Post-Wise Eligibility Criteria

1. Lower Division Clerk (LDC)

2. Hindi Typist

3. Civilian Mechanical Transport Driver (CMTD) – Ordinary Grade

Age Limit & Relaxation (As on last date of application)

Important: SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against UNRESERVED (UR) posts are NOT entitled to any age relaxation.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of two stages:

Stage 1: Written Test (100% weightage)

• Question-cum-answer paper will be in English and Hindi

• Written test carries 100% weightage for final merit

Stage 2: Skill / Practical / Physical Test (Qualifying only)

• For LDC/Hindi Typist: Typing test (35 wpm English or 30 wpm Hindi)

• For CMTD: Driving test and knowledge of motor mechanism

• This stage is qualifying in nature – only those who pass are considered for final selection

Note: No TA/DA will be paid for attending any stage of the selection process.

Syllabus Overview

For LDC / Hindi Typist:

• General Intelligence: Analogies, coding-decoding, blood relations, direction test, puzzles

• English Language: Grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, sentence correction

• Numerical Aptitude: Simplification, percentage, profit-loss, average, ratio-proportion

• General Awareness: Current affairs, Indian history, geography, polity, defence-related news

For CMTD (Driver):

How to Apply – Step by Step (Offline Mode)

Since this is an offline recruitment, candidates must send their application via post to the concerned Air Force Station.

Step 1: Download the Application Format

Use the Annexure-1 proforma given at the end of the official notification. You can also type it on A4 paper in the same format.

Step 2: Fill the Application Form (In Block Letters)

Step 5: Envelope Preparation

• Write on the envelope: “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ______ AND CATEGORY ______”

• Send Address “Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Sohna Road, Gurugram – 122001”

• Paste a self-addressed envelope with Rs. 10/- postage stamp

Step 6: Send by Post

Send the complete application via registered post / speed post so that it reaches within 30 days from the date of publication (2 May 2026).

Special Instructions for PwBD Candidates

• Scribe facility is available as per DoP&T OM No. 29-6/2019-DD-11 dated 10 Aug 2022.

• Exemption from typing test is allowed if a Medical Board certifies that the candidate is “unable to type”. Certificate must be in prescribed format (Annexure-1).

• Only those PwBD candidates with disability conditions that are “progressive, non-progressive or not likely to improve” are eligible for reservation. Temporary disabilities are not eligible (as per Ministry of Social Justice OM No. 18-25/2024-Policy dated 17 Dec 2025).

General Instructions (Important)

1. Separate application for each post – if applying for LDC and CMTD, send two separate applications to respective stations.

2. Pre-scrutiny of applications will be done by each unit for age, qualification, and documents.

3. Exam centre may be different from the station where you sent the application – purely for administrative convenience.

4. Fulfilling eligibility does not guarantee call for test – only shortlisted candidates will be called.

5. Original documents must be brought at the time of skill/practical/physical test.

6. Crucial date for validity of certificates is the last date of receipt of application.

7. Simultaneous tests may be conducted for multiple categories. If exams are on same date, you choose one category.

8. The Air Officer Commanding has the right to reject any application without assigning any reason.
